Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Los Angeles, Jan 9 (NationPress) Pop sensation Britney Spears has expressed her aspiration to headline a concert at Copacabana Beach.
The organizers of Rio de Janeiro's largest free event are eager to welcome the pop diva to Brazil, according to ‘Female First UK’.
When asked about the rumors surrounding a possible performance by the Toxic star at Copacabana, the organizers reportedly stated, “we still believe in it”.
As reported by ‘Female First UK’, the 44-year-old artist has not graced the stage since her Piece of Me Tour concluded in 2018. If she accepts the Rio gig, she would join the ranks of Lady Gaga, who performed to a record-breaking crowd of approximately 2.5 million in May 2025, along with Madonna. Lady Gaga’s two-hour show was funded by the city of Rio de Janeiro to stimulate the local economy, attracting around 500,000 tourists who traveled to the city for the concert.
This concert marked the pinnacle of Lady Gaga's career and her first appearance in Brazil since 2012. The buzz surrounding Britney comes after she vowed to “never perform in the US again”.
In an Instagram post, the singer shared insights about her plans, stating that she was sending a piano to one of her sons and emphasized her intention to stay away from performing on home soil due to “extremely sensitive reasons”. However, she hopes to return to the stage to entertain fans in the UK and Australia.
In her post, Britney expressed, “Sending this piano to my son this year. Interestingly enough, I dance on IG to heal things in my body that people have no idea about. Yup and it’s embarrassing sometimes but I walked through the fire to save my life. I will never perform in the U.S. again because of extremely sensitive reasons but I hope to be sitting on a stool with a red rose in my hair, in a bun, performing with my son in the UK and AUSTRALIA very soon.”
