Mumbai, Jan 8 (NationPress) After the remarkable success of its inaugural season, Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi has a plethora of plans for the second season, which includes imparting cooking skills to the contestants while emphasizing the joy of food intertwined with humor.
He expressed, “There are considerable expectations for this season, particularly due to the triumph of the previous installment. Many viewers have high hopes, and this time, we aim to place a stronger emphasis on the culinary aspect. Our celebrity participants will not only showcase their comedic talents but should also concentrate on preparing delightful dishes.”
The chef elaborated: “This approach allows audiences to witness another facet of their personalities—not just their humor but their cooking prowess as well. I will exert every effort to ensure that food receives the recognition it merits in this season, alongside all other elements.”
The upcoming season is set to feature a fresh lineup of actor guests, whom he intends to instruct in culinary techniques.
“I also aim to teach them some cooking, as I’m certain not all of them are adept in the kitchen. I’ll guide and assist them in becoming better cooks and introduce them to the craft of exquisite cooking. That’s something I will undoubtedly strive to achieve,” he stated.
He assures that he will reveal more of his humorous personality this season.
“While humor was present in the first season, it wasn’t as prominent as I would have preferred. This time, I will focus on merging the humor I’m recognized for with the culinary skills I’ve showcased in prior shows. Naturally, bonding with Krishna, Sudesh, and Kashmera will also play a significant role in this journey, and I’m genuinely excited about it,” he added.
When asked how he balances his roles as a chef and a TV host, Chef Harpal explained: “Being a chef entails a total focus on food and guiding individuals on their cooking journey. As a TV chef, it’s about communicating effectively and demonstrating precisely how to prepare a dish,” he remarked.
“It’s akin to being a guest in someone’s home via the screen, where they observe and replicate your recipe.”
“Since you can’t physically supervise them, your recipe must be clear, precise, and foolproof to enable them to create a fantastic dish at home. That’s what defines success as a TV chef,” he further added.
However, he acknowledges that the demands of working as a chef come with distinct challenges.
“In that role, you represent a broader framework, showcasing the refined art of cooking at a professional level. Conversely, as a TV host, you’re not solely cooking; you’re also entertaining, bringing joy to people, and establishing a connection with them. Through television, I become a part of their lives, as if I’m sitting at their dining table or in their hearts,” he stated.
“Both roles present unique challenges, and neither is easier or harder than the other. They are simply different, and I have thoroughly enjoyed embracing both. When I host a cooking show, I focus not just on the food but also on the experience of making viewers feel like I’m part of their family. That’s what makes it special and fulfilling,” Chef Harpal concluded.
