Mumbai, June 10 (NationPress) Hollywood icon Chris Evans has openly shared his feelings of disappointment for not being included in the upcoming ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.
The 43-year-old actor, renowned for his role as Captain America in eight films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), acknowledged that although he maintains connections with his former co-stars, there’s a unique sense of loss after his departure from the franchise in ‘Avengers: Endgame’, as reported by Female First UK.
In an interview with ScreenRant, he stated, “Yes, I converse with them regularly. It’s where Pedro Pascal is right now. Honestly, it’s disheartening to be apart. It’s tough not being reunited with the team, but I’m confident they’re creating something phenomenal. I know it will be even more challenging when it releases, and it feels like I wasn’t invited to the celebration.”
According to Female First UK, Evans concluded his journey in the MCU when his character, Captain America, went back in time to return the Infinity Stones.
He chose to remain in the past with Peggy Carter, while in the present, the title and shield were handed to Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie).
Mackie, aged 46, is set to star in the forthcoming blockbuster and has hinted that the film will evoke “that classic Marvel feeling.” He remarked to IGN, “We’re moving forward, and everyone is buzzing with excitement to get the team back together. We’re scheduled to go out this week, and we will be out there doing it. The anticipation is palpable. With the script and the Russo brothers returning, it’s bound to be fantastic. I’m truly eager for what this project holds. It’s going to offer the viewers that beloved Marvel atmosphere they always cherished.”
Meanwhile, Alan Cumming recently expressed his astonishment and thrill about reprising his role as Nightcrawler for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, which is currently being filmed in London.
