Los Angeles, Sep 8 (NationPress) Hollywood actor Alan Cumming, who recently won the Emmy Award for outstanding host in a reality competition show for ‘The Traitors’ at the Creative Arts Emmys, has completed his work on the upcoming film ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.
When asked about his preparations for reprising his role at the Emmy Awards backstage, he confirmed that he had already concluded filming, as reported by ‘Variety’.
He remarked, “Well, I’ve already done it. I finished it.” The actor, who last portrayed the character in 2002, shared, “I did a lot of stunt work and training. That was amazing.”
Cumming humorously added, “The stunt people couldn’t believe that I could get up, let alone jump around and do this boxing and training.”
According to ‘Variety’, Cumming admitted he had neglected to rewatch the original film before taking on the character again, but this turned out to be beneficial for his performance.
He explained, “I think that was what really helped, because this is super intense, and is loads of stuff at once.” Previously, Cumming discussed his makeup process for portraying the blue mutant with heavy tattoos. Appearing on ‘Today With Jenna and Friends’, he noted, “Actually, what’s great about it, it was four-and-a-half to five hours before, and now it’s 90 minutes.”
Backstage, Cumming remarked on the advancements in technology.
He stated, “The thing about green screen, CGI, and face replacement is that it’s very detailed work. So I did feel that I got a chance to really portray the character again properly.”
Also reprising their roles in ‘Doomsday’ are fellow X-Men cast members Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Kelsey Grammer, James Marsden, and Rebecca Romijn.
