Chris Martin Discusses the Heartache of Empty Nest Syndrome

Los Angeles, Dec 20 (NationPress) The frontman of Coldplay, Chris Martin, has recently addressed the experience of becoming an empty nester, which refers to parents whose children have matured and moved out. With both of Martin's children, Apple (20) and Moses (18), heading off to college, he noted that life at home has drastically shifted.

"It's sad," he expressed, indicating that this was "the only word" he felt could encompass his emotions, according to aceshowbiz.com.

Despite this sorrow, he acknowledged the natural flow of time and the significance of granting them their independence.

"Of course, it would be more unsettling if they were still like, 'I can't leave.' Then you'd be more concerned," he mentioned.

As he adjusts to a quieter living environment, Martin continues to foster a strong relationship with his children, often showcasing his playful sense of humor.

"I adore my kids immensely. Even though they aren't biologically mine, I'm revealing that story now," he quipped.

Martin also disclosed a cheeky strategy he uses to tease his son in public. "If we're strolling down the street and someone says, 'I'm sorry to interrupt you while you're with your son,' I respond, 'That's not my son. That's my partner,' " he chuckled. "Yeah. I care for them a lot. To be fair, I think they are mine."

As Apple's much-anticipated debutante ball at the renowned Le Bal des Debutantes in Paris approaches, Martin shared his initial reservations.

"It's really not something I ever envisioned doing," he admitted.

"But since I'm so infatuated with her, I'm like, 'Alright.' "

Chris Martin is widely recognized as the lead singer, pianist, and co-founder of the rock band Coldplay.

Hailing from Exeter, he attended University College London, where he formed Coldplay alongside Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, and Will Champion. The band secured a record deal with Parlophone in 1999, achieving worldwide acclaim with their debut album Parachutes (2000) and subsequent releases.

He has won seven Grammy Awards and nine Brit Awards as a member of Coldplay. With over 100 million albums sold globally, they are regarded as the most successful band of the 21st century.
