Mumbai, July 23 (NationPress) The government of Delhi has officially announced that Anupam Kher's film 'Tanvi the Great' will be exempt from taxes in the National Capital.
In her announcement, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta shared on her X handle, "I am thrilled to inform you that the film 'Tanvi the Great' is now tax-free in our state."
Describing the film as 'an inspiring and emotional' narrative, the CM emphasized that it portrays the uplifting journey of a young girl, Tanvi, who strives to fulfill her aspirations against all challenges.
She further expressed that the Delhi Government is dedicated to supporting 'Tanvi the Great'—a movie that fosters the spirit of Rashtra Seva, sparks patriotism, and stirs the national conscience.
This film had previously been granted tax exemption in Madhya Pradesh.
Chief Minister Gupta attended a special screening of the film directed by Kher in Delhi.
After viewing 'Tanvi The Great', she spoke to the media, asserting that the film is essential viewing for every child.
"I applaud Anupam Kher for creating this film focusing on special themes for special children. Each moment of this film was deeply touching, making it vital for every child, both in our country and worldwide, to experience it. On behalf of the government of Delhi, we aim to share this inspiring and heartwarming film with as many children as possible, which also instills patriotism," the CM expressed.
'Tanvi the Great' features the acting debut of Shubhangi Dutt, alongside notable actors such as Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swami, Boman Irani, Pallavi Joshi, Karan Tacker, Nasser, Kher, and Iain Glen in pivotal roles.
The film is co-produced by Anupam Kher Studios and NFDC, with distribution handled by Excel Entertainment led by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, along with AA Films under Anil Thadani.
'Tanvi the Great' premiered in theaters on July 18.
