Did Aditya Pancholi Convert His Faith to Marry Zarina Wahab?

Mumbai, Nov 28 (NationPress) Zarina Wahab recently shared her thoughts on the doubts surrounding the durability of her marriage to actor Aditya Pancholi, as numerous individuals speculated that it would not endure beyond five months.

In a recent interview, the seasoned actress discussed her interfaith union of 36 years with Aditya, noting that despite initial skepticism, their bond has proven resilient. Zarina also touched upon whether their differing faiths ever posed any challenges in their relationship, revealing that although Aditya did not convert to Islam, he adopted a new name for their nikaah ceremony.

When asked if their varied religious backgrounds created any hurdles, Wahab told Lehren Retro, 'When I wed him, everyone remarked, ‘He’s so handsome, he’s so young, this won’t last more than five months.’ Yet, here we are 36 years later. Look around, our home has numerous temples. I perform namaaz. There is no distinction based on religion in our household; we have everything we need... My in-laws are also very kind. There were no obstacles.'

Zarina clarified that they indeed held a nikaah ceremony and when questioned if Aditya converted to Islam, she stated, 'He didn’t convert, but as is customary for Muslims, he had to change his name, and he did that.'

During the same interview, Wahab discussed Aditya’s affairs, revealing that she never confronted him about them. She acknowledged that she was aware of his indiscretions but chose to overlook them, emphasizing that what mattered most was how he treated her at home.

'I was always aware of Nirmal (Aditya’s real name)’s affairs, but I never questioned him. I only focused on how he treated me when at home. I refrained from questioning him because it might have made him bold. I was fully prepared for him to have affairs,' Zarina explained.

For those unfamiliar, Zarina Wahab and Aditya Pancholi met on the set of their film 'Kalank Ka Tika,' and despite the actress being six years older and facing opposition from her mother, the couple followed their hearts and married in 1986.
