Zarina Wahab Reveals Her Experience Shooting Her First Malayalam Film with Kamal Haasan

Mumbai, Jan 2 (NationPress) Actress Zarina Wahab shared a memorable experience from her journey while making her first Malayalam film, Madanolsavam.

A recently shared video featured the actress discussing the obstacles she faced while navigating the Malayalam language, which remains unfamiliar to her despite her experience in 29 films in the Malayalam film industry.

The actress expressed, “I still don’t know Malayalam, even after acting in 29 movies. My debut was alongside Kamal Haasan. When we went to the room, they were handing me the payment. I was eager to receive it quickly because I aimed to purchase a nice apartment. They provided me with all the funds, and I was thrilled as it allowed me to contribute to my home. However, upon arrival, I found myself confronted with dialogues I couldn’t comprehend, leading to tears as I felt completely overwhelmed. I had concerns about being stuck with the money and thought, ‘I’ll have to figure out how to return it’. My desire to leave was strong.”

“I refused to exit the room. Eventually, Kamal approached me and asked, ‘What’s wrong?’. I replied, ‘Kamal, I’m truly sorry, but I can’t perform; I want to leave’. He reassured me, ‘Since you’re here, let’s work for a day. We’ll assist you. You can jot down your lines on the cutter. We’ll prompt you. Just focus on matching your lip movements and expressions. We will handle the dubbing’. While in tears, I delivered my first shot with their support. I thought, ‘Not bad’. Then came a romantic scene where I held Kamal and wrote my lines on his hand. Gazing at his hand, I joked, ‘Now I could also act in a Russian film if someone dubs’,” she concluded.
