Chennai, Sep 10 (NationPress) The production team of director Sasi's much-anticipated film, starring actor and music director Vijay Antony in the principal role, has officially revealed that the film will be called 'Nooru Saami'.
Notably, the title is derived from a highly acclaimed song in director Sasi's hit Tamil movie 'Pichaikkaran', which also starred Vijay Antony.
Vijay Antony shared the news on his X account, stating in Tamil, "❤️Amma unnaipol aagiduma (Even if there are a hundred Gods, will they be as good as you, mother!) #NooruSaami"
It is worth noting that esteemed director Sasi had confirmed his collaboration with Vijay Antony during the trailer launch of director Leo John Paul's 'Maargan', where Vijay Antony portrayed a police officer delving into a series of homicides.
Sasi remarked, "In 2006, while directing 'Dishyum', Vijay Antony served as the music director. A decade later, he took on the lead role in 'Pichaikkaran'. Now, we are set to collaborate once more."
Sasi further expressed that this upcoming film holds significant emotional value for him, revealing that it will feature two lead characters.
"Vijay Antony will portray one of the heroes, while the other will be played by Ajay Dhishan, Vijay Antony's nephew. I recall Ajay as a child during the filming of 'Dishyum'. Now, he has blossomed into a young hero," Sasi explained.
This film has generated immense excitement among Tamil cinema enthusiasts, as Vijay Antony's previous venture with director Sasi, 'Pichaikkaran', became not only a blockbuster but also a cult classic.
The narrative of 'Pichaikkaran' revolved around a wealthy businessman who, to save his mother's life, resorts to begging for 48 days as part of a vow to God. This real-life inspired story resonated with audiences across Tamil Nadu and beyond.
'Pichaikkaran' achieved monumental success in Tamil cinema and was remade in several languages including Telugu as 'Bichagadu', Odia as 'Baby', Marathi as 'Bhikari', and Kannada as 'Amma I Love You'.
Now, nearly nine years later, the beloved duo of director Sasi and actor Vijay Antony is set to reunite for the new film titled 'Nooru Saami' (Hundred Gods).
