Mumbai, July 29 (NationPress) Actress Divita Juneja, preparing for the premiere of her forthcoming film 'Heer Express', took on the role of chef during a filming day.
In a recent interview with IANS, she revealed that the movie taught her the essentials of cooking, as she once prepared kheer for 70 people right on set.
She explained to IANS, “This film showed me how to serve food when 10 people are hungry. We conducted numerous experiments during the shoot. Umesh sir is exceptional at narrating that tale.”
Director Umesh Shukla elaborated, “Yes, there was an incident while we were filming on the outskirts of London, near Seven Sisters. Our catering service had an unfortunate mishap and couldn't arrive. I proposed to Divita that we should prepare food ourselves since we had gained quite a bit of knowledge.”
“Naturally, we assisted her with chopping and other tasks, but she was the one who seasoned the dishes and had the right sense of portion sizes. In the end, Divita prepared meals for about 60-70 people, including a special dish we named 'Heer Ki Kheer'.”
Previously, Umesh, who also directed 'OMG – Oh My God', shared his past as a priest, performing rituals at people's homes.
He previously told IANS, “Coming from a Brahmin family, I used to conduct Satyanayan pooja, Lakshmi pooja, and others until I graduated. I would dress in a dhoti and kurta to perform these rituals myself.”
“I used to engage in numerous discussions with my father and grandfather, always looking for any gaps in our practices,” he added.
