Chennai, Jan 13 (NationPress) The producers of director Mohan G's highly anticipated Tamil-Telugu historical film 'Draupathi 2' have officially announced a delay in its release, moving it from January 15 to January 23.
Just one day after revealing the January 15 release date, Netaji Productions released a statement where the producer mentioned, "Our debut production 'Draupathi 2', initially slated for a Pongal release, will now debut on January 23 in honor of the birthday of national leader Nethaji Subhash Chandra Bose, following requests from theatre owners."
The producer further expressed hope that the public and audiences would kindly accept this change and continue to support the film team as they have done previously.
It's noteworthy that the film's creators were among the first to declare their intention to release during the festival, especially as the release of Vijay's film 'Jana Nayagan' faced delays. Nevertheless, it is now confirmed that 'Draupathi 2' will hit theaters on January 23.
Produced by Chola Chakravarthy from Netaji Productions in collaboration with G. M Film Corporation, 'Draupathi 2' has generated significant excitement among fans.
According to sources, the film is set in the 14th century and narrates the story against the backdrop of the reign of Hoysala emperor Veera Vallalar III, the bravery of the Kadavarayas of Sendhamangalam, and the upheaval caused by the Mughal invasion of Tamil Nadu.
In addition to Richard Rishi and Rakshana Induchoodan, actor and cinematographer Natti Natraj will play a prominent role.
The cast also includes Y. G. Mahendran, Nadodigal Barani, Saravana Subbiah, Vela Ramamoorthy, Siraj Johnny, Dinesh Lamba, Ganesh Gaurang, Divi, Devayani Sharma, and Arunodayan, thereby enhancing the film's historical scope and dramatic impact.
