Los Angeles, April 6 (NationPress) Nothing can hinder music icon Elton John when he sets his mind to something. The seasoned artist made a remarkable return to the sketch comedy show ‘Saturday Night Live’ alongside Brandi Carlile, appearing on the show despite facing vision loss.

The dynamic duo performed as the musical guests on the latest episode, as reported by ‘People’ magazine.

Jack Black hosted the episode. For their initial performance, John, 78, and Carlile, 43, delivered ‘Little Richard's Bible’ from their recently launched collaborative album, ‘Who Believes in Angels?’

According to ‘People’, the pair later returned to the Studio 8H stage to perform the title track from their latest LP.

This appearance marked John’s first return to ‘SNL’ in over a decade, with his last appearance being in April 2011 when he served as both host and musical guest.

Prior to that, the ‘Your Song’ artist made his ‘SNL’ debut as a musical guest in April 1982. Carlile, on the other hand, made her third appearance on ‘SNL’, having been a musical guest in an October 2021 episode, and again in December 2022.

John's ‘SNL’ performance occurred amidst his ongoing health challenges. Last year, he revealed on Instagram that he had suffered an infection that resulted in vision loss in his right eye. He elaborated in a subsequent interview with Good Morning America that the infection occurred while he was in the south of France during the summer.

John and Carlile first crossed paths in 2009 when she wrote him a letter requesting he play piano on her song “Caroline” from her album ‘Give Up the Ghost’.
