Mumbai, Oct 27 (NationPress) Bollywood star Emraan Hashmi, who is eagerly anticipating the release of his new film ‘Haq’ alongside Yami Gautam, has called on his fellow Muslim community members to come out and support the movie.

This marks the first collaboration between Emraan and Yami in ‘Haq’, with the trailer being launched on Monday in Mumbai. The gripping drama is based on the significant Supreme Court ruling in the Mohd. Ahmed Khan v. Shah Bano Begum case.

During the trailer launch, the actor discussed whether he felt a heightened sense of duty to participate in a film like Haq, particularly as a Muslim.

Emraan stated, “When I engage with a script like this, I approach it as an actor. For the first time, I also needed to incorporate the perspective of a Muslim. Reflecting on the landmark case, the nation was split. One faction prioritized religion and personal belief, while the other championed constitutional and secular rights. My goal was to determine if the director and writer maintained a balanced, impartial stance in this film. The short answer is ‘yes’. It was indeed very neutral.”

He continued, “After viewing this film, I can’t predict the audience's reactions. However, I am confident that many will perceive it as exceptionally balanced, with a strong pro-women message. This film represents a liberal Muslim viewpoint. I believe it’s an outstanding piece of work. Muslims should definitely come out and watch it; you’ll resonate with it in a truly unique way.”

‘Haq’ centers around a Muslim woman challenging the system, pursuing her rights and those of her children under Section 125. It raises critical issues surrounding faith, identity, liberalism, and legal frameworks, specifically the Uniform Civil Code Act under Article 44.

Produced by Junglee Pictures in collaboration with Insomnia Films and Baweja Studios, the film is helmed by the talented Suparn S Varma. It is scheduled for theatrical release on November 7, 2025, under the direction of one of the industry's most dynamic filmmakers, Suparn S Varma.
