Farah Khan Presents 'A Nostalgic Gift' to Her 'Little Brother' Farhan Akhtar

Mumbai, Jan 9 (NationPress) Choreographer and filmmaker Farah Khan surprised the multi-talented Farhan Akhtar, whom she lovingly refers to as her “little brother”, with a nostalgic gift from their childhood.

Farah shared a delightful video on her Instagram, capturing the moment Farhan unwrapped presents on his milestone 51st birthday. Among the gifts were vintage vinyl records from classic films like “Kranti”.

The video kicks off with Farah stating: “Farhan’s 51st birthday present.”

As Farhan unveiled the gifts, he chuckled and began singing the title track of “Kranti”, a film from 1981 featuring Manoj Kumar.

Farah prompted him to check out the other gifts, but Farhan continued his singing, prompting her to humorously exclaim: “These are all vintage. My god he’s going to sing the whole song.”

His wife, Shibani Dandekar, along with his filmmaker sister Zoya, could be seen laughing as Farah recorded him in song.

In her caption, she wrote: “What do you gift your little brother who has everything?? A piece of our childhood of course! Happy birthday @faroutakhtar #capri9 keep the kranti going #favouritefilm.”

Regarding “Kranti”, it is a historical drama directed by Manoj Kumar, with the story and screenplay crafted by Salim–Javed. The film features a star-studded cast, including Dilip Kumar in the title role alongside Manoj Kumar, Shashi Kapoor, Shatrughan Sinha, Hema Malini, and Parveen Babi in significant roles.

The film marked Dilip Kumar’s return after a four-year break and is ranked among the top 10 highest-grossing Indian films ever. It was one of the most expensive Indian films of its time and became the highest-grossing Indian film of the 1980s.

On the professional front, Farhan is backing “Songs Of Paradise”, a musical drama set in Kashmir, directed by Danish Renzu.

This film is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, Shafat Qazi, and Danish Renzu, featuring a screenplay by Danish Renzu, Sunayana Kachroo, with dialogues by Niranjan Iyengar. The lead character is portrayed by Saba Azad, and the plot follows a Kashmiri woman aspiring to be a singer, inspired by the melodies of Raj Begum.
