Chennai, Oct 2 (NationPress) The team behind director Sundar C's highly anticipated devotional thriller 'Mookuthi Amman 2', starring actress Nayanthara, unveiled the film's first look poster on the auspicious day of Vijayadasami.

On their X timeline, Vels Film International, the production company behind the project, stated, "May her Divine Grace Shine Through. A #SundarC Visual Masterpiece. Presenting the Initial Look of #MookuthiAmman2."

The first look poster reveals Nayanthara portraying Goddess Mookuthi Amman, seated on the steps leading to the temple's sanctum sanctorum. This release has sparked immense enthusiasm among fans since the film's announcement.

Notably, producer Ishari K Ganesh had revealed that the actress had observed a month-long fast for her portrayal of the goddess in this film.

During a pooja ceremony marking the film's official launch in March, Ishari K Ganesh remarked, “I must mention Nayanthara madam. She has been fasting for nearly a month now. She also fasted for a month prior to embodying the character of Amman in Mookuthi Amman part 1. She is thrilled about this role and the narrative.”

Ishari Ganesh shared that five years ago, when actor R J Balaji proposed making the first part of the franchise, he quickly agreed as Mookuthi Amman holds significance as their family deity.

“When selecting an actress for the titular role of Mookuthi Amman, our only choice was Nayanthara. Upon our approach, she readily consented. The film met audience expectations,” said Ishari K Ganesh.

“After that film, I awaited another project centered on Goddess Amman, but nothing materialized. I desired a pan-Indian film about Goddess Mookuthi Amman, leading to the decision to create a second installment of Mookuthi Amman. After discussions with my team, we concluded that Sundar C, known as the 'Franchise King', would be the ideal director for this sequel,”

producer Ishari K Ganesh noted.

During the announcement of the film's cast, Sundar C revealed that besides Nayanthara, the movie will include Regina Cassandra, Kannada actor Duniya Vijay, Yogi Babu, Singam Puli, Gopi Amarnath, Abhinaya, Iniya, Mynaa Nandini, Swaminathan, and Ajay Ghosh, among others. The film's music will be composed by actor and music director Hip Hop Tamizha.
