Mumbai, Sep 22 (NationPress) Veteran actor Gajraj Rao, who recently starred in Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi’s legal comedy, “Jolly LLB 3”, has showered praise on his co-star Seema Biswas, an actress he has admired for many years.
The ‘Badhaai Ho’ star shared that he first encountered Seema on stage in Delhi and was completely captivated by her performance.
In a post on his Instagram, Gajraj expressed, “Around 35 years ago, I witnessed Seema Biswas for the first time on the Delhi stage, part of the NSD Repertory company in various plays. Her stage presence was truly electrifying. As a novice theatre actor, watching legends like Seema Biswas, Govind Namdev, Himani Shivpuri, and Srivallabh Vyas perform live was an emotional experience. Actors of her caliber don’t just act; they offer masterclasses for future generations through their roles on stage and in films.”
Eventually, Gajraj received his acting break in a minor role in Shekhar Kapur’s “Bandit Queen”, where Seema played the lead.
“Fast forward to 1992-93: I landed my first film role, albeit a small but meaningful one, in Bandit Queen, where I had the privilege of acting alongside Seema ji. That Shekhar Kapur film marked a milestone in my career. Now, in 2024, I am once again directed by another Kapoor, a visionary filmmaker, in Jolly LLB 3. Working with Seema Ji again was incredibly enriching; with just a glance, she can evoke a moment. Without speaking a word, she conveys a monologue solely through her eyes,” he added.
