Chennai, March 13 (NationPress) Award-winning composer and actor G V Prakash has humorously revealed how actor Ken Karunas retaliated against him for pushing him to lose weight during the production of director Vetrimaran's 'Asuran'.
During the audio launch of Ken Karunas's debut film as an actor and director, 'Youth', G V Prakash shared, "After the initial filming schedule of 'Asuran', Vetrimaran presented me with some footage. I noticed Ken's scenes and suggested that he needed to shed some pounds. I urged Vetrimaran to re-shoot Ken's close-ups."
With a chuckle, he added, "As a result, Ken had to hit the treadmill and lose weight for those close-ups. I was quite demanding of him during the making of 'Asuran'."
"In retaliation, Ken decided to complain to my director, Dhanush," G V Prakash recounted with a grin.
"I composed the music for 'Nilavukku Ennadi Enmel Kobam', directed by Dhanush. He would come to listen to our compositions and leave pleased. However, later he'd call me saying, 'Machan, Ken claims he doesn't like the song, saying it doesn’t suit him.' I assured Dhanush that the songs were fantastic and would surely become hits," he remarked, still smiling.
"I wanted to confront Ken about his doubts regarding my work with Dhanush. One day, I caught him at an airport and pointed out that the song was well-received and Dhanush was happy with it. He simply said, 'It doesn’t work for me, anna.' I reminded him that it had over 200 million views and was a massive hit, to which he casually replied, 'Yeah na, but it still doesn’t work for me, anna,'" laughed G V Prakash.
