Genelia D'Souza Expresses Gratitude to Her Dad for Instilling a Love for Sports

Mumbai, Dec 19 (NationPress) Actress Genelia D'Souza has written a touching birthday message for her father, Neil D'Souza.
In her heartfelt post, she expressed her gratitude to her father for motivating her to embrace sports and for instilling in her the principle of perseverance. Taking to Instagram, Genelia shared joyful moments with her dad and noted, “I didn’t grow up with satin bows and rainbows; I grew up with sports, which back then was not something that encouraged for daughters as it wasn’t deemed feminine enough..”
The star of ‘Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na’ continued, “Thank you, Pops, for accompanying me to those early morning practices and for pushing me to continue, even when I felt like quitting - What I didn’t realize was that I was gaining life lessons that have significantly shaped my mindset ..

Genelia’s father, Neil D'Souza, serves as a senior official at Tata Consultancy Services. Her mother, Jeanette D'Souza, was the managing director of a multinational pharmaceutical corporation until 2004 when she chose to leave her job to support Genelia’s career. The actress also has a younger brother, Nigel D'Souza, who is employed at the Bombay Stock Exchange.
On the professional front, Genelia made her comeback to acting after a decade-long hiatus in the Marathi film “Ved,” in which she starred alongside her husband, Riteish Deshmukh, who made his directorial debut with this film.
