Srinagar, April 19 (NationPress) 'Ground Zero' has made history by being the first Bollywood film in 38 years to have its premiere in the city of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir.

The screening took place on Friday evening at the 'Inox' theatre, where actor Emraan Hashmi expressed his happiness about returning to Srinagar for the launch of his film 'Ground Zero'.

Emraan characterized the event as a 'symbolic moment' for Kashmir, signifying the start of a revitalized cinematic era in the Valley.

The premiere of Excel Entertainment's action thriller, 'Ground Zero', was a landmark event at the 'Inox' theatre on Friday.

This film narrates the tale of a Border Security Force (BSF) operation. Being the first film premiere in Kashmir in nearly four decades, the event represented a significant cultural milestone and a proud moment for both the local populace and the BSF.

Lead actor Emraan Hashmi, who embodies a BSF Commandant, was joined by co-star Sai Tamhankar, director Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar, and producers Ritesh Sidhwani, Dolly Sidhwani, and Farhan Akhtar along with Shibani Dandekar.

Co-producer Arhan Bagati and other production team members also made a grand entrance for this special screening dedicated to BSF personnel.

Set against the backdrop of Kashmir, 'Ground Zero' draws inspiration from a real-life mission that has never been depicted on film before.

Emraan Hashmi takes on the character of BSF Commandant Narendra Nath Dhar, marking his debut portrayal of a security officer.

Sai Tamhankar plays the role of the commandant's wife.

The premiere attracted prominent personalities from the film industry, including actors, directors, and various dignitaries, all of whom underscored the cultural and emotional importance of the event.

Emraan highlighted that hosting a premiere in Srinagar after such a long hiatus sends a strong message to inspire other filmmakers to choose Kashmir as a location for shooting films and hosting screenings.
