Mumbai, April 16 (NationPress) Emraan Hashmi, who is preparing for the release of his upcoming film, ‘Ground Zero’, expressed his views on the emerging talent in Bollywood and offered high praise for Ranbir Kapoor.

He described him as one of the most exceptional actors of this era, commending Ranbir's performance in ‘Animal’ and emphasizing the unique viewpoint he delivers on screen. Emraan stated to IANS, “I prefer not to comment extensively on social media trolling—it’s merely a cacophony of opinions. It should not be taken too seriously. However, Ranbir Kapoor is an actor I genuinely respect. I appreciated his role in Animal. Numerous young actors are doing remarkable work and introducing fresh viewpoints to the cinema.”

In Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s action-thriller, Ranbir portrayed the character of Rannvijay Singh, who seeks vengeance following an assassination attempt on his father. The film also featured Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, Triptii Dimri, and Anil Kapoor in significant roles.

Regarding Emraan’s latest venture, he will portray BSF Commandant Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey, who led the operation that neutralized Ghazi Baba, recognized as the best operation carried out by the BSF in the last 50 years.

When queried about embodying Dubey—a commanding officer in ‘Ground Zero’, Emraan Hashmi provided insights into the intense preparation required for the role. He remarked, “When an actor assumes a role like this, it involves physical, emotional, and psychological dimensions. Physically, I needed to adopt a disciplined body language. In portraying a commanding officer, posture and demeanor are vital.”

“I had to focus on my physique as well—weight training, dietary adjustments, and increasing my calorie intake—to look and feel the part. Emotionally and psychologically, I engaged with BSF officers to grasp their mental state during operations, their family dynamics, and the emotional toll such a high-stakes profession entails. As actors, we have not experienced those situations, so we depend on our imagination and draw parallels from personal experiences. Every life holds moments of intensity and uncertainty—you channel that into your performance,” he added.

Directed by Tejas Deoskar, ‘Ground Zero’ is scheduled to premiere in theaters on April 25, 2025.
