Mumbai, Oct 9 (NationPress) Actor-producer Harman Baweja has shared insights into his choice of casting Arshad Warsi as a police officer in his forthcoming film “Bhagwat: Chapter 1 – Raakshas.”

As the producer of the movie, Baweja expressed that Arshad’s exceptional versatility and innate screen presence made him the ideal candidate for the role. Discussing the casting decision, he stated to IANS, “Here’s Arshad Warsi, a powerhouse performer who infuses grit, charm, and depth into Inspector Vishwas Bhagwat. With Arshad at the helm of the investigation and Jitendra in a surprising role, the chemistry between them is bound to be electrifying. The tension and unpredictability they bring were essential to the narrative we aimed to convey. What it takes for justice to triumph through Arshad's character is what renders the story so thrilling and engaging.”

While discussing the casting of Jitendra Kumar, Baweja remarked, “Bringing Jitendra into the fold was undoubtedly a daring choice, but one that excites me. He shares a solid connection with audiences through his relatable characters, making his screen presence almost synonymous with the roles he embodies. Mention Jeetu, and one instantly visualizes him as the reliable, good-hearted individual navigating through chaos.”

Directed by Akshay Shere and penned by Bhavini Bheda and Sumit Saxena, “Bhagwat: Chapter 1 – Raakshas” features Arshad Warsi, Jitendra Kumar, and Ayesha Kaduskar. Produced by Harman Baweja’s Baweja Studio, the film follows Inspector Vishwas Bhagwat, portrayed by Arshad Warsi, a seasoned and emotionally complex police officer transferred to the tranquil town of Robertsganj in Uttar Pradesh.

“Bhagwat: Chapter 1 – Raakshas” is set for a Diwali release on October 17, 2025.
