The actress, best known for her role in ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun’, fondly recalled her iconic play ‘Mitro Marjani’, expressing the profound memories and accolades she received from the esteemed writer Krishna Sobti. Celebrating the everlasting allure of theatre, Himani reflected on how those experiences vividly brought characters and narratives to life on stage.

On her Instagram page, Shivpuri shared a rare, slightly blurred photo from the play, accompanied by a touching note. She wrote, “Suprabhat! Someone sent me this photo! This is from one of my iconic plays, from NSD Repertory days - Mitro Marjani, directed by Shri B.M. Shah! This play is adapted from Krishna Sobti’s Sahitya Akademi-winning novel - Mitro Marjani. So many memories...Krishnaji attended the performances, embracing me and telling me, ‘You made Mitro come alive….The magic of Theatre!’”

Professionally, the 64-year-old actress is celebrated for her unforgettable roles in classic films like “Hum Aapke Hain Koun,” “Raja,” “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge,” “Khamoshi,” “Hero No. 1,” “Biwi No. 1,” “Hum Saath-Saath Hain,” “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham,” “Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon,” and “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai”, among others.

Throughout her career, she has collaborated with some of Bollywood's most significant production houses, including Yash Raj Films, Rajshri Productions, and Dharma Productions. Currently, Himani portrays Katori Amma, affectionately known as Katto Amma, in the television series “Happu Ki Ultan Paltan.”

This show is a spin-off of the widely acclaimed series “Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!” Set in the vibrant city of Kanpur, the show humorously chronicles the chaotic life of police officer Happu Singh and his large family, including his wife Rajesh Singh, mother Katori, and their nine children, as they navigate a series of comedic misadventures.
