Mumbai, Jan 29 (NationPress) Actor Hiten Tejwani has revealed that his forthcoming sci-fi film “Baida” is exceptionally distinctive and that such genres are rarely showcased on the Indian cinema landscape.
Reflecting on the film and his role, Hiten stated, “‘Baida’ is a truly exceptional film, one that we seldom see in Indian cinema. While it incorporates captivating elements like time travel and science fiction, the narrative crafted by the makers is what ultimately stands out as the true hero of this film.
“Moreover, the character I portray carries a weighty load of intensity and emotions, playing a crucial role in defining the film's core narrative.”
He also shared insights about filming in Gorakhpur.
“Shooting the scenes at some remarkable handcrafted sets in a village near Gorakhpur was an absolute joy. I am confident that the audience, including my family, friends, and loved ones, will be exhilarated when they see ‘Baida’ in theaters, experiencing storytelling like never before,”
he remarked.
Offering insights into the making of India’s first sci-fi supernatural thriller set in the Hindi heartland, producer Puneet mentioned, “We enlisted local artisans and specialists to construct three-floor huts that could support up to around 600 kg of weight, all without using any metal.”
“The fusion of genres such as sci-fi and supernatural, along with the essence of the country's roots, makes ‘Baida’ a remarkable film for audiences of all ages. We are excited to meet our audience on March 21.”
Writer Sudhanshu, who plays the lead role and is also the film's writer, added, “‘Baida’ immerses viewers in a world of illusion, where a man finds himself ensnared in a relentless cycle of life and death by a malevolent force.”
“The unexpected twists and turns that unfold around him, along with the characters he meets, weave a narrative that transcends time and dimensions. Two hours of pure entertainment and an exhilarating dose of thrill is what I promise my fans with ‘Baida’, and I am certain they will be astonished.”
“Baida,” filmed primarily in a small village near Gorakhpur, is set to release in theaters across India on March 21.
