Mumbai, June 21 (NationPress) Actor Hitesh Bhardwaj, preparing for “Aami Dakini”, describes the narrative as anything but ordinary; it’s layered, emotional, and quietly intense.
Set against the vibrant backdrop of Kolkata, the series offers a perspective on “Husn bhi, Maut bhi,” as noted in a recent statement. It delves into the life of Dakini, a mysterious figure whose silence conveys profound messages, whose unsettling gaze captivates, and whose lingering presence is unforgettable.
In the show, Hitesh Bhardwaj takes on the role of Ayaan Roy Choudhary, a sceptic swept into a mesmerizing and unpredictable realm. He reflects on his character, stating: “At its core is Ayaan Roy Choudhary, portrayed by Hitesh Bhardwaj — a skeptic drawn into an enchanting, unpredictable world.”
He further commented: “Aami Dakini isn’t your typical story—it’s layered, emotional, and quietly intense. As Ayaan, I had to strip away the usual dramatics and focus on stillness, on what isn’t said. That was the real challenge.”
The actor emphasized the importance of mood in the series.
He expressed: “It taught me that in stories like this, mood matters more than spectacle. Every glance, every pause holds meaning. You’re not just reacting to a scene—you’re responding to an atmosphere where husn bhi hai, maut bhi. That duality stays with you, even after pack-up.”
Hitesh began his career as a news presenter on a local news channel, earning a modest monthly salary of 2000 rupees. Before acting, he also worked as a radio jockey.
He made his acting debut in 2012 with Suvreen Guggal – Topper of The Year and gained recognition in 2016 for his role as Ravi in the Hindi television series Agar Tum Saath Ho. Bhardwaj made his film debut in 2018 with Jaane Kyon De Yaaron.
His notable roles include playing Manav Sharma / Vikram Diwan in the series Choti Sarrdaarni alongside Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia and Sanjay Pathak in Iss Mod Se Jaate Hain.
In September 2022, he portrayed Ekampreet Singh Randhawa in the popular drama Udaariyaan opposite Twinkle Arora. He also appeared in Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Mein.
Aami Dakini premieres on June 23 on Sony Entertainment Television and SonyLIV.
