Los Angeles, Dec 12 (NationPress) Hollywood star Hugh Jackman recently shared a memorable yet embarrassing incident when he lost control of his bladder during a live performance of “Beauty and the Beast”.
During an appearance on Howard Stern's Sirius XM show this week, Jackman, who portrays Gaston, revealed that he was struggling with persistent headaches at that time, prompting him to seek advice from a naturopath.
He recounted: “He said, you’re dehydrated. You gotta drink a lot, you gotta drink a lot of water, drink it before five o’clock, like two litres of water. So that first day I drank two gallons because I thought – you can see what’s happening.”
“The first song I performed, ‘You’ve been dreaming just one dream’, was extremely challenging to get through. I had to lift her, drag her around, and sing. While lifting Belle, a little bit of… happened, and I was in red tights. I thought, uh oh.”
The actress playing Belle noticed something was off almost immediately, as reported by femalefirst.co.uk.
He added: “Belle’s over my shoulder going, ‘What’s going on?’ She’s like, ‘What’s going on?’ because I’d stopped singing, I was just marching around.”
As the song reached its climax, Jackman faced a tough decision.
He explained: “At the end of the song, I had a choice. I could either hit that F sharp and risk p***ing my pants, or I could not sing and humiliate myself. So I sang it, and it just kept going. Instead of taking my bow, I turned upstage, jumped around, and looked down to find nothing.”
He humorously referred to his costume as a “wetsuit,” with the audience being completely unaware of his mishap.
