Hyderabad, April 3 (NationPress) Director V N Aditya, whose upcoming international film ‘Phani’ features actress Catherine Tresa in the leading role, revealed today that the production team auditioned snakes for over five days before selecting a Black Pine to fulfill a significant part in the movie.

The film, produced by Dr. Meenakshi Anipindi under the OMG Productions banner and presented by AU & I Studio, stars Catherine Tresa alongside actor Mahesh Sriram in a key role.

‘Phani’ is set to be released in multiple languages, including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Legendary director K Raghavendra Rao unveiled the motion poster for Phani during a press conference held today in Hyderabad.

During the event, Director Dr VN Aditya expressed, “When my sister Meenakshi and brother-in-law Sastry proposed to produce a film with me under their OMG Productions banner, I was initially apprehensive. Other producers typically prepare extensively before entering the industry, but they simply saw my potential and decided to proceed with production.”

The director shared that ‘Phani’ began as a modest project.

“Once actress Catherine Tresa agreed to join the film, it elevated the project significantly, transforming it into a global venture. Catherine has dedicated herself to this film, actively participating in workshops, and Mahesh Sriram has been extremely supportive.”

Revealing that a snake plays a crucial role in the film, the director mentioned, “We filmed the entire movie in Dallas, making it the first Indian film entirely shot in the USA. Initially, Catherine was apprehensive about snakes, but she grew comfortable with the Black Pine featured in the film. Our goal was to impart a unique character to the snake, so we spent five days auditioning various snakes, capturing every moment with three cameras before ultimately selecting the Black Pine as our leading character.”

Emphasizing the passion of the entire ‘Phani’ team, the director promised a spectacular theatrical release for the film.

In addition to Catherine Tresa, the cast includes Mahesh Sriram, Neha Krishna, Tanikella Bharani, Kashi Vishwanath, Ranjitha, Yogita, Prashanthi Aarti, Sanya, Akash, Anil Shankaramanchi, Kiran Gudipalli, Bala Karri, and Dayakar, among others.

The film features music by Dr. Meenakshi Anipindi, who is also the producer. Cinematography is handled by Bujji.K and Saikiran Ainampudi, while Junaid takes care of editing.
