Mumbai, April 24 (NationPress) Actor Ishaan Khatter has urged not to create a divide between Indian Hindus and Indian Muslims following the tragic Pahalgam terror incident, believing this would be a final win for terrorists.
In his Instagram stories, the 'Dhadak' star expressed a heartfelt message reflecting on Kashmir's long and tumultuous history.
"This was a targeted attack on Hindus. To deny this is to be dishonest. The history is painful: from the forced exodus of Kashmiri Pandits to the assaults on Amarnath yatris. But to use this suffering as a tool to pit Indian Hindus against Indian Muslims is unforgivable. That would be the terrorists' ultimate victory. We must not allow them to succeed," Ishaan wrote.
He also shared that he had visited Pahalgam around two months prior, where he encountered many generous and friendly locals.
"On a personal note, I was in Pahalgam just 2 months ago. I have always felt a deep connection and affection for Kashmir and have always found the people to be kind and welcoming. I met some truly beautiful souls there. My heart aches for the loss that the victims of these heinous attacks are enduring. We must remember that Kashmir has been deeply affected over time. This place, often referred to as heaven on earth, bears wounds from such acts, and the lives of its inhabitants are irrevocably impacted.
Ishaan was recently in Kashmir filming his song 'Pyaar Aata Hai' with Tara Sutaria.
He called on everyone to avoid being blinded by hatred and to strive for justice. He stated, "We are being tested not for our politics, nor our religion, but for our HUMANITY. Let’s not forget this and channel our collective anger towards seeking JUSTICE rather than succumbing to blind hatred. Let’s remember who we truly are—human beings, endowed with empathy, reasoning, and compassion."
Ishaan also honored the memory of the local Kashmiri, Syed Adil Hussain Shah, who lost his life while attempting to save tourists during the attack.
