Mumbai, Feb 4 (NationPress) Zee TV's renowned show "Jagriti – Ek Nayi Subah" embarks on a significant evolution with a 12-year leap, offering a renewed outlook on the characters' journeys.
As the narrative progresses, Rachana Mistry remains in her role as Jagriti, now joined by newcomers Sagar Parekh as Akash and Vijayendra Kumeria as Suraj, the sons of the powerful yet corrupt Kalikant Thakur. Pranjali Singh takes on the role of Sapna, Jagriti's childhood adversary.
Regarding her portrayal of a matured Jagriti, Rachana Mistry expressed, “Being part of Jagriti – Ek Nayi Subah is a remarkable opportunity. Jagriti has evolved into a survivor, turning her weaknesses into strengths. Adopted into an affluent family, she dreams of becoming an IPS officer, believing in her ability to impact the world and advocate for justice. What I find most admirable is her unwavering resolve to overcome obstacles and realize her true potential. Her inspiring journey serves as a reminder that a new beginning is possible, and I hope her story resonates with the audience.”
Vijayendra added, “Upon reading the script, I was captivated by Suraj’s complex character. While he appears arrogant and entitled, leveraging his father’s political influence, he is, in reality, a conflicted young man yearning for his father’s approval while grappling with insecurities. This blend of self-importance and vulnerability makes him a compelling character to portray. Suraj’s path of self-discovery and his evolving relationship with Jagriti are pivotal to the narrative, and I’m thrilled to bring his intricacies to life.”
Sagar Parekh described playing Akash as an exhilarating experience.
“He is an intelligent individual with a kind heart who has grown up in the shadow of power and corruption. He realized early on that to change the system, he must first master it. His duality of idealism versus pragmatism makes him fascinating. Portraying Akash’s inner turmoil has been a privilege, and I’m eager for the audience to engage with his journey,” he stated.
"Jagriti – Ek Nayi Subah," which debuted on January 28, is broadcast daily on Zee TV.
