Mumbai, April 19 (NationPress) Actor Jaideep Ahlawat has recently become a topic of discussion among netizens due to his energetic dance performance in his forthcoming heist film ‘Jewel Thief - The Heist Begins’.
The song ‘Jaadu’ from the film showcases Jaideep displaying his dance moves alongside Saif Ali Khan and Nikita Dutta. Interestingly, Jaideep has predominantly portrayed serious roles, establishing himself as an intense actor who rarely indulges in on-screen enjoyment like dancing.
Recently, his co-stars Nikita Dutta and Kunal Kapoor discussed whether the dance seen in the video was truly Jaideep or an AI-generated rendering. The trio shared their thoughts during a conversation with IANS at the Netflix office located in the BKC area of Mumbai, just before the release of ‘Jewel Thief - The Heist Begins’, playfully suggesting that the video was a product of AI.
Kunal jokingly recounted, “Jaideep was rather anxious. We assured him, ‘Jaideep, it’s perfectly fine, you can do this’. He inquired about the time frame for mastering the moves, and I mentioned he had six months. For half a year, we had him practice daily.”
Nikita added humorously, “After that, we had to raise the film’s budget, and subsequently, we turned to AI. That’s how we ended up with an AI version of Jaideep dancing.”
Jaideep humorously responded to IANS, “Despite six months of practicing for six hours each day, they still opted for AI.”
“Post that, we invested considerable time in editing, which took about 4-5 days. Ultimately, we succeeded in convincing the audience,” Kunal concluded.
‘Jewel Thief - The Heist Begins’ is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on April 25.
