Mumbai, Feb 27 (NationPress) The renowned actress and former Rajya Sabha member, Jaya Prada, known for her recent performance in the OTT series ‘Fatima’, has announced the heartbreaking news of her elder brother Raja Babu's demise.
On Thursday, the actress shared a heartfelt tribute on her Instagram, posting a picture of her deceased brother. In her emotional caption, she conveyed the sad news to her followers.
She wrote, “It is with great sorrow that I announce the passing of my elder brother, Mr. Raja Babu, who has now gone to God's heavenly abode today at 3:26 PM (Hyderabad). Please keep him in your prayers. More details will follow shortly (sic).”
Previously, Jaya Prada appeared on the singing reality show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ and disclosed that the popular track ‘Dafli wale Dafli Baja’ was not initially intended for the film ‘Sargam’.
During a special episode, contestant Bidisha sang the songs ‘Mujhe Naulakha Manga De Re’ and ‘Dafli Wale Dafli Baja’. Jaya was so moved by the performance that it took her down memory lane to her time shooting ‘Dafli Wale Dafli Baja’. She also shared several behind-the-scenes stories about the song.
She remarked, “I can’t put into words how your rendition of this song has reminded me of Lata Didi today. You are truly remarkable! I must say, attempting this song is no small feat, but you have mastered it. Actually, ‘Dafli wale Dafli Baja’ was not supposed to be included in the movie as we had already recorded and filmed too many songs. However, on the last day of shooting, everyone decided to film it, and we completed it in just one day.”
She further added, “When it premiered in theatres, audiences would halt the show to listen to the song repeatedly. It holds a very special place in our hearts, and instead of being recognized as Jaya Prada, I became synonymous with this song.”
