Mumbai, Feb 15 (NationPress) Iconic Superstar Jeetendra was recently honored as ‘Jestha Nagrik’ during the Khasdar Jestha Nagrik Sankulan Mohatsav. This grand celebration highlighted the significant contributions of the esteemed actor to Indian cinema.
Throughout his illustrious career, Jeetendra has featured in over 200 films. The event was also attended by India’s Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, who praised Jeetendra’s exceptional accomplishments and his ongoing efforts to motivate the youth.
Expressing his appreciation for his roots, Jeetendra shared, “I resided in a Girgaw chawl for 18 years. During my time in a humble chawl in Girgaw, I was surrounded by immense love. Now at the age of 83, I reflect on those years as the most precious of my life. I began as an extra, a junior artist, and my first opportunity arose because Shanta Rao Bap found it amusing that I, a Punjabi, spoke such fluent Marathi. I identify as Maharashtrian because I was only 15 days old when my mother brought me to Bombay, Girgaw, where I lived until I was 18. I feel more Maharashtrian than anything else. I am grateful for this prestigious award.”
The 'Jestha Nagrik' award honors individuals who have made enduring contributions to society.
In a different context, Jeetendra’s daughter and producer, Ektaa Kapoor, recently shared a touching moment on social media featuring her father.
