Mumbai, Feb 15 (NationPress) Iconic superstar Jeetendra was recently honored as ‘Jestha Nagrik’ at the Khasdar Jestha Nagrik Sankulan Mohatsav. This magnificent event recognized the veteran actor's immense contributions to Indian cinema.

Throughout his career, Jeetendra has appeared in over 200 films. The occasion was attended by India’s Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, who praised Jeetendra’s significant achievements and commended his relentless efforts to motivate the younger generation.

Expressing his appreciation for his origins, Jeetendra remarked, “I resided in a Girgaw chawl for 18 years. While living in a modest chawl, I was surrounded by love. Today, at the age of 83, I cherish those years as the best of my life. I began my career as an extra actor, and my first opportunity came when Shanta Rao Bap found it amusing that I, a Punjabi, spoke such clear Marathi. I identify as Maharashtrian because my mother brought me to Bombay, Girgaw, when I was just 15 days old, and I lived in a chawl until I was 18. I am more Maharashtrian than anything else. I am grateful to everyone for honoring me with this prestigious award.”

The 'Jestha Nagrik' award acknowledges individuals who have made enduring contributions to society.

In a separate update, Jeetendra’s daughter and producer, Ektaa Kapoor, recently shared a touching moment on social media featuring her father.

She posted a video on Instagram showing the television mogul admiring a poster of Jeetendra displayed on a wall. Filled with joy, Ektaa Kapoor captioned the post, “Visited a movie! Encountered the one person I love, adore, and admire on a wall! So happy!!! #smalljoys #daddysgirl.”

The video also included Ektaa Kapoor expressing, “Going to see a film and spotting your dad as one of the legends on a poster there…feeling proud.”
