Jennifer Garner's Advice: Don't Marry with the Expectation of Changing Him

Los Angeles, Nov 30 (NationPress) Hollywood actress Jennifer Garner has expressed that women should never enter into marriage with the belief that they can change a man.

The actress was previously married to actor Scott Foley, 52, from 2000 until 2004, and to Ben Affleck from 2005 to 2018. She has recently shared her thoughts on what she considers the most significant mistake women can make when it comes to relationships.

During an appearance on the ‘Lipstick on the Rim’ podcast, when prompted to share her “favorite quote or mantra”, she stated, “Never expect a man… don’t marry a man thinking you can change him.”

Jennifer revealed that this advice originated from her mother, Patricia Garner, as reported by femalefirst.co.uk.

She also recounted additional “vintage Pat Garner” sayings during the podcast, noting that “they all come from Mrs. Ingalls from ‘Little House on the Prairie’ or ‘Anne of Green Gables’ or all of the above.”

Among her mother’s wise words, Jennifer shared two favorites: “Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes in the morning,” and “Happiness is your own responsibility.”

The “Valentine's Day” actress, who has been in a fluctuating relationship with businessman John Miller since 2018, refrained from discussing her past marriages during the podcast.

She previously addressed her relationship with Scott Foley, stating that their marriage might have endured if it weren’t for the pressures of Hollywood, mentioning that they “would probably still be together” if it hadn’t been for their “fast-lane life.”

In a 2016 interview with Vanity Fair, she described Affleck as a “complicated guy,” explaining, “I always say, ‘When his sun shines on you, you feel it’. But when the sun is shining elsewhere, it’s cold. He can cast quite a shadow.”

Garner was last seen on screen reprising her role as Elektra Natchios in “Deadpool & Wolverine,” a film based on Marvel Comics characters Deadpool and Wolverine. This marks the 34th installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and serves as a sequel to “Deadpool” (2016) and “Deadpool 2” (2018), directed by Shawn Levy.
