Los Angeles, Oct 16 (NationPress) Singer-actress Jennifer Lopez experienced a remarkable makeover for her role in ‘Kiss of the Spider Woman’.
In a recent interview, she opened up about her journey in creating her character, as reported by ‘People’ magazine.
During her appearance on the ‘Howard Stern Show’, the host praised her acting and expressed his admiration for her character's hairstyle. In this adaptation of the 1993 Broadway musical, Lopez portrays Ingrid Luna, sporting a striking platinum blonde appearance.
According to ‘People’, the film narrates the story of two inmates in a harsh South American prison: a Marxist revolutionary (Diego Luna) and a gay window dresser imprisoned for “immoral behavior” (Tonatiuh). They escape their grim reality by imagining a Hollywood musical starring the fictional Ingrid Luna.
“I like you as a platinum blonde,” Stern, 71, remarked. “I know you were hesitant about going blonde for the movie.”
Lopez admitted, “It was such a drastic change. I was apprehensive because I had never tried platinum blonde hair before.” She noted that she had previously worn blonde wigs, but they never suited her skin tone.
She elaborated, “I had concerns that this transformation would not work. However, it was a complete change. My skin tone had to adapt, and I needed to use more pink in my foundation.”
The singer-actress mentioned that her usual lipstick colors wouldn’t complement her new hair. Fortunately, her makeup artist, Scott Barnes, reassured her, stating, “I know how to do it. We will make you look stunning.”
She concluded, “The transformation was profound. I felt like a different person. My movements, my posture, and the colors I wore were all altered.”
While JLo did not maintain the blonde look post-production, she fully embraced the experience.
