Los Angeles, Aug 20 (NationPress) Singer Joe Jonas recently discussed the timeless 2008 hit “When You Look Me In The Eyes” and explained why this song will always remain a staple in the band’s performances.
During an appearance on Songs & Stories with Kelly Clarkson, Nick, Joe, and Kevin Jonas reminisced about some of their most significant tracks, including “Year 3000,” “When You Look Me in the Eyes,” “Little Bird,” and “Love Me to Heaven.”
Joe, now 36, shared memories from the recording of “When You Look Me in the Eyes” from their self-titled second album, created in their home state of New Jersey.
“This song was crafted with our dad, many years back,” he recalled.
“I vividly remember the recording sessions in a basement of an office building in New Jersey, where we had to maintain silence while moving through the hallways.”
The host humorously remarked that the experience sounded “inspiring,” to which Nick, 32, added that the studio “definitely wasn’t sanctioned,” as reported by people.com.
Despite the passing years, Joe emphasized that the song continues to resonate deeply with the brothers and has earned its place in the band’s setlist for years ahead.
“It was incredibly special to create this piece with our dad, and even now, it’s amazing to see fans at our shows singing along. Truly, it’s one of the earliest songs that reflects young love and our journey of self-discovery while traveling the world, and it’s one we’ll play forever.”
“It remains one of our favorites,” he concluded just before the group performed a rendition of the song.
At the recent opening night of the Jonas Brothers’ JONAS20: Greetings From Your Hometown Tour at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, their father Kevin Jonas Sr., mother Denise Jonas, and younger brother Franklin Jonas joined them on stage to perform “When You Look Me in the Eyes.”
Later in the performance, they were joined by Kevin’s wife Danielle Jonas and their two daughters, Alena, 11, and Valentina, 8, who sat with Kevin Sr. at the piano. Before concluding the song, the eldest Jonas passionately sang the chorus he helped create all those years ago.
