Chennai, Nov 10 (NationPress) Director Jalmari Helander, acclaimed for his gripping survival thriller 'Sisu', expresses that collaborating with actor Jorma Tommila is always a joy. Tommila possesses the rare ability to evoke profound emotions, such as rage and grief, with minimal dialogue!
Almost ten years after reinventing modern action thrillers with 'Sisu', Jalmari Helander and Jorma Tommila are poised to return with a sequel named 'Sisu: Road to Revenge'.
Reflecting on their partnership in the sequel, Helander mentions that Tommila infuses an unwavering, almost robotic intensity and vigor into his performances.
The director states, “Collaborating with Jorma is always a delight because he uniquely conveys emotions, such as rage and grief, with scarcely any dialogue. We understand what Aatami is feeling and thinking just through his expressions and movements.”
Tommila describes his character Aatami Korpi as “a devoted family man, until the war disrupted everything. He has lost everything and therefore has nothing left to lose. However, by the time we see him in this film, Aatami has discovered a new sense of purpose in life, having somewhat overcome the traumas of war. Now, he believes there might still be a future for him.”
A recently released trailer indicates that the sequel promises to be just as gripping and intense.
Returning to the site where his family was brutally killed during the war, “the man who refuses to die” (Jorma Tommila) disassembles the house, loads it onto a truck, and is determined to reconstruct it in a safe location to honor their memory. When the Red Army commander responsible for his family's death (played by Stephen Lang from 'Don’t Breathe') returns, hell-bent on finishing what he started, an exhilarating, jaw-dropping cross-country chase unfolds—a life-or-death battle, filled with clever and unbelievable action sequences.
Written and directed by Jalmari Helander, and produced by Mike Goodridge and Petri Jokiranta, the film features Jorma Tommila, Richard Brake, and Stephen Lang among others.
Set to be released in India by Sony Pictures, this film will premiere on November 21 in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
