Actor Kanwar Dhillon, currently seen as Sachin in the popular television drama 'Udne Ki Aasha', has opened up about his deep bond with motorcycles — from a childhood obsession with bicycles to owning a Kawasaki Ninja 1000cc today. Speaking on the occasion of World Motorcycle Day, Dhillon described riding as a form of therapy that has shaped both his daily life and his sense of personal achievement.

From Bicycles to Bikes: A Childhood Obsession

Dhillon traced his love for two-wheelers back to his earliest years. 'I was obsessed with two-wheelers right from my childhood. It started with bicycles, and then I became fascinated with motorcycles. I always loved the adrenaline rush that comes with riding a bike, and that pushed me to chase my dream of owning one,' he said.

That childhood fascination eventually translated into a practical need. As an aspiring actor commuting between college and Aram Nagar for auditions, Dhillon requested his father to purchase a Yamaha Fazer 150cc — with a promise to repay him once he landed his first job.

First Pay Cheque, First Ownership

'We had a deal that I would repay him once I got my first job. When I bagged The Buddy Project, I used my first pay cheque to repay him for the motorcycle. That gave me an incredible sense of achievement because I truly felt that I owned my first bike,' Dhillon recalled.

The moment marked more than just a financial transaction — it represented the actor's first tangible proof that his career choice had paid off. For many young professionals in India's entertainment industry, the first pay cheque carries symbolic weight, and Dhillon's story reflects that sentiment vividly.

Dream Bike Bought During 'Pandya Store' Run

Dhillon has since upgraded considerably. He is now the proud owner of two motorcycles, the crown jewel being a Kawasaki Ninja 1000cc — his long-cherished dream bike — purchased during his time on the show 'Pandya Store'.

'I surprised my family by taking them directly for the delivery. Buying my dream bike through my hard work was a very special moment,' he shared. The gesture underscored how personal milestones in his career have consistently been marked through his relationship with motorcycles.

Riding as Therapy — and Responsibility

'Motorcycling has changed my life in a beautiful way. It makes travelling more fun and life much easier because I save a lot of time. For me, riding a motorcycle is therapy. The moment I wear my helmet and start riding, it becomes a very therapeutic experience,' Dhillon said.

However, the actor was equally emphatic about road safety. 'I never ride without a helmet, and I urge everyone to prioritise safety. Riders should never compromise on helmets, jackets, gloves, riding shoes and safety gear, especially on long rides. Keep your live location shared with your loved ones, stay hydrated, and understand your machine well,' he concluded.
