Los Angeles, March 19 (NationPress) The controversial rapper Kanye West has stepped back from his usual rants on X, previously known as Twitter, to launch his latest album 'Bully' through various full-length versions of a film, edited and styled by the renowned visionary Hype Williams.
The rapper initially shared a link to the film with the soundtrack of 'Bully', noting that the album is “not finished and half the vocals AI,” but he wanted to see what aspects resonated with listeners, as reported by 'Variety'.
Hours later, he released three different versions of the 'Bully' film, which include a “screening version,” a “post Hype version,” and a “post post Hype version.”
According to 'Variety', the films feature the rapper’s son Saint in a wrestling ring, using a mallet to fend off challengers for a duration of 30 minutes. The wrestlers include YOH, Toru Yano, Tiger Mask, and El Desperado from New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
The album is infused with soulful samples including Cortex’s 'Huit Octobre 1971' and The Supremes’ 'You Can’t Hurry Love'.
'Bully' was initially revealed in September 2024 during a performance at Wuyuan River Stadium in Haikou, China, where West debuted the track 'Beauty and the Beast'. This song ultimately made its way onto this test version of the album, which was released amid a wave of inflammatory tweets targeting Jay-Z, Beyoncé, and their families.
Kanye West elaborated that he chose to release the album on his X account to evade the streaming system. He remarked, “I may stop using DSPs because streams are fake and the French and Jewish record labels treat artists like prostitutes.”
He also mentioned that 'Donda 2' is next on the horizon, and asked his followers whether they would prefer 'Vultures 3' or 'Donda 3'. The rapper has been on a public spiral over the past month, making controversial statements and even attempting to sell t-shirts featuring a swastika in his store.
