Mumbai, Oct 8 (NationPress) Karan Johar, one of the most prominent directors in Hindi cinema, marked a significant milestone on Wednesday as he celebrated 45 years of his production company, Dharma Productions.

A collaborative post shared by Karan and Dharma Productions featured a captivating video montage showcasing all the films produced under the banner, which was established in 1980.

The montage included iconic moments from beloved films such as “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai”, “Kal Ho Naa Ho”, “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham…”, “Dostana”, “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil”, “Kesari”, “Jigra”, “Devara”, “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani”, “Kill”, and “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani”, among others.

The video montage featured text that read: “What began in 1980. Still Continues. 45 years of serving wholesome entertainment. With stories that feel like… With pyaar & dosti feels like… With drama that feels like… With action that feels like and with new stories that feel like…. 45 years of Dharma.”

Accompanying the montage, the caption stated: “45 years of storytelling with pyaar, dosti, family & emotions as the main characters. Thank you for being a part of our family, a part of our cinematic journey! #45YearsofDharma.”

Karan also shared the video on his Instagram stories, expressing his emotions with the note: “45 years” followed by three orange heart emojis.

Dharma Productions was founded by Yash Johar in 1976 and was taken over by his son, Karan Johar, in 2004 after Yash's passing.

The inaugural production of the company was Raj Khosla's “Dostana”, featuring stalwarts like Amitabh Bachchan, Shatrughan Sinha, and Zeenat Aman. This film became the highest-grossing Bollywood film of its year.

Subsequently, the company produced Duniya in 1984 and Muqaddar Ka Faisla, followed by Agneepath, which later gained cult status and earned a National Film Award for its lead, Amitabh Bachchan. The next films, Gumrah and Duplicate, further solidified its reputation.

Over the years, Dharma Productions has been associated with numerous blockbusters, featuring major stars such as Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra, and Alia Bhatt.
