Mumbai, March 17 (NationPress) Actor Karan Tacker, who is commemorating the 5th anniversary of his successful streaming series ‘Special Ops’, reminisced about how he auditioned for the show initially.

The actor, who portrayed a leading cop in the series, recounted that he filmed his first audition in the washroom of a hotel.

Discussing this experience, he stated, “I can’t believe it’s been five years since ‘Special Ops’ premiered. I distinctly remember the day I was called for the audition. I was vacationing in Mussoorie and had to record the audition in a hotel bathroom due to insufficient lighting in my room. Sending it was a challenge because there was no network in the mountains.”

He added, “Eventually, when I successfully sent it, I recall receiving a call the next day asking if I could fly to Mumbai immediately as the director was impressed with my audition. I hurriedly bought a ticket and rushed to Mumbai for the next round of auditions. I will never forget the day Neeraj Sir invited me to his office for a casual chat to know me better.”

The series premiered on JioHotstar coinciding with the announcement of India’s lockdown in 2020, leaving the team without promotional opportunities. Given that OTT was a relatively new platform at that time, their concerns were understandable.

He continued, “We had no chance to promote the show. There were no ground activities, interviews, or press conferences, and we were all anxious about its reception, particularly since OTT was still new and we had no buzz surrounding the show.”

“However, I must credit the audience for the immense love they have shown ‘Special Ops’. To this day, it remains the most popular series on JioHotstar, and I often meet fans who ask me, ‘Should we call you Faruk, Amjad, or Karan?’ I feel incredibly grateful to Neeraj Sir for shaping my career, especially since I’ve also been part of ‘Khakee: The Bihar Chapter’.”

“The second season of ‘Special Ops’ is also a reality now, and I truly believe that all the work I’ve done with Neeraj Pandey and Friday Filmworks has significantly enhanced my credibility as an actor and artist. Thus, the release date of this show will always be profoundly significant to me,” he concluded.
