What Did Karan Tacker Say About His Cannes Experience?

Mumbai, May 23 (NationPress) Actor Karan Tacker expresses his gratitude and sense of honor for being a part of the Cannes Film Festival, yet he doesn't perceive it as a pivotal moment in his career. The significance of this experience stems largely from the happiness it has brought to his family, particularly his mother.

When asked whether he views the Cannes experience as a turning point, Karan shared with IANS: “I’m not entirely certain if I can be that indulgent to claim this is a defining or transformative moment in my career.”

He further remarked: “However, it is undeniably a prestigious feeling to be involved in the festival and to present a film here. The firsts are always special, and I’m genuinely thrilled to have participated in the concert on the carpet.”

Karan's joy is amplified by his family's pride, especially that of his mother. “My mum was incredibly excited to see me there, so while I’m unsure about this being a turning point in my career, I’m immensely happy that my family is so proud. I've been quite fortunate with the roles I've landed, from Farooq Ali to Amit Lodha, and now Gaurav Tiwary,” he noted.

Discussing what it means for him to represent India at Cannes, Karan expressed pride in showcasing a project like Tanvi The Great, which he is passionate about, on such a global platform. He believes that it elevates visibility and piques interest in the film both nationally and internationally.

“It’s incredibly humbling, to be honest, but it feels wonderful to present a project you've been deeply involved with to the world,” Karan stated.

He believes that having a film featured at Cannes helps generate buzz back home and enhances its visibility across the globe.

“Professionally, I think it facilitates communication back home to foster audience interest, knowing that it was presented at one of the most esteemed festivals worldwide. The goal is for people in India and beyond to engage with your work more than they might under typical circumstances,” the actor explained.

Karan found it astonishing to connect with individuals he admires and to immerse himself in that creative environment.

“What made this experience so real for me is that, from the outside, the festival may seem solely about the red carpet, but upon arrival, you realize there's a tremendous influx of distributors, producers, and agents from every corner of the film industry converging in one place,” he reflected.

“You get to network and interact with influential figures who inspire you, making the experience far more surreal than just the red carpet,” he concluded.
