The throwback photo featured Kartik alongside director Imtiaz Ali, Karan Johar, Dinesh Vijan, and PM Modi, with the Prime Minister’s back turned to the camera.
In his caption, Kartik wrote, “Happy Birthday @narendramodi sir. Ek aur saal nikal gaya. Is Backfie se hi kaam chala raha hu (sic).”
This image dates back to 2019, captured during the launch of the National Museum of Indian Cinema in Mumbai, where Kartik took a “backfie” with Karan, Imtiaz Ali, and Dinesh Vijan.
In a playful response, PM Modi commented, “Not losers but Rockstars! No selfie Jab We Met but there will always be another occasion,” cleverly referencing movie titles like 'Rockstar' and 'Jab We Met'.
Kartik has rapidly established himself as one of Bollywood’s most valuable young talents. He debuted in 2011 with 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama', earning acclaim for his engaging monologues and comedic flair. Over the years, he has broadened his repertoire with hits such as 'Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety', which was a significant commercial triumph, and 'Luka Chuppi', solidifying his standing as a frontrunner in urban romantic films.
Recently, he completed filming for his forthcoming project 'Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri'.
Previously, Kartik provided an update regarding 'Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri'. Initially scheduled for release on February 13, 2026, the film's debut has been moved up by two months, now set to hit theaters on December 31, 2025.
