Chennai, Oct 24 (NationPress) Renowned comedian and character actor Karunakaran, who has showcased his talent in numerous hit Tamil and Telugu films, has revealed that he once contemplated stepping away from the film industry.
Karunakaran, currently featured in director Praveen K’s investigative thriller 'Aaryan' alongside Vishnu Vishal and Shraddha Srinath, shared this insight during a recent press event.
In a candid media interaction, Karunakaran stated, "I never intended to take a break. It just happened. To be honest, my journey began with my first hit in Tamil cinema, 'Kalakalappu'. Following that, I had successes with 'Pizza', 'Soothu Kavvum', 'Jigarthanda', 'Indru Netru Naalai', and 'Yaamirukka Bayamey', all of which were major hits. Naturally, I assumed cinema would always be this way.
"It was later that I understood the reality of fluctuations in everyone's careers. Vishnu Vishal can attest to this. There were multiple instances when I considered quitting the industry. The way you are treated during success compared to failure is vastly different. I wanted to leave acting, but Vishnu Vishal urged me to remain, saying, 'Please keep acting. You are a talented artist. This is how cinema works. Some films will succeed, while others won’t. So, please don’t leave.'"
Karunakaran mentioned that Vishnu Vishal motivated him by offering roles in two of his upcoming films, including 'Gatta Kusthi 2'.
"Currently, I have numerous projects in the pipeline, including G D Naidu, where I hold a significant role. It appears I am well-positioned for the next two to three years, and I plan to stay in the industry," he shared.
For those unaware, 'Aaryan', which has received clearance from the Censor Board, is set to be released on October 31 this year.
Produced by Vishnu Vishal Studioz in collaboration with Shubhra and Aryan Ramesh, 'Aaryan' promises to be an intriguing thriller.
