The makers of the upcoming pan-Indian Malayalam action thriller Kattalan have urged audiences not to exit the theatre early, confirming that the film contains three post-credit scenes — including a final one that appears only after the rolling credits have completely finished. The film, directed by Paul George and produced by Cube Entertainments, is set to release on 28 May.

What the Official Announcement Said

Production house Cube Entertainments shared a poster on their social media handles with a direct message to ticket-buyers: 'Important note to the audience. Please do not leave the theatre when the movie ends. Kattalan features 3 post credit scenes.'

The announcement further clarified: 'Two during the title cards and the final post-credit scene appears only after the rolling credits are completely over. Stay till the very end. The hunt is not over yet.' The phrasing signals that the post-credit sequences are narratively significant, not merely promotional teasers.

Cast Characters Revealed

The makers have also disclosed the character names for the principal cast. Lead actor Antony Varghese — widely known by his screen name Pepe, a nickname he earned after playing Vincent Pepe in the acclaimed 2017 film Angamaly Diaries — plays a character named Antony Varghese in Kattalan, mirroring his real name. Actress Rajisha Vijayan plays the female lead.

Telugu actor Sunil, recognised for his roles in Pushpa: The Rise (2021), Pushpa 2 (2024), and Jailer (2023), plays a character called Maari. Tamil actress Dushara Vijayan plays Lucy, while Kabir Duhan Singh plays Eddy and Parth Tiwarii plays Roby. Raj Tirandasu, who drew attention with his performance in the pan-Indian blockbuster Pushpa, portrays a character named Maari 95. Veteran Malayalam actors Jagadeesh and Siddique also appear in pivotal roles, alongside Rapper Baby Jean.

Music Director Change and Production Updates

One of the more surprising developments during the film's production was a change in music directors. Cube Entertainments had initially announced Ajaneesh Loknath — the composer behind Kantara 2 — as the film's music director, before later welcoming Ravi Basrur on board instead. The switch drew considerable attention from fans tracking the project.

Filming was wrapped up in February 2025. The film had originally been slated for a 14 May release before the date was revised to 28 May. The Censor Board has cleared Kattalan for release with an 'A' certificate.

The Team Behind the Film

Kattalan is produced by Shareef Muhammed of Cube Entertainments, the production house behind the Malayalam blockbuster Marco. The screenplay has been written by Paul George, Joby Varghese, and Jero Jacob — a writing trio making their debut with this film. Cinematography is handled by Renadive, editing by Shameer Muhammed, costumes by Dhanya Balakrishnan, and action choreography by Sharief.

The production house also drew appreciation late last year when it released footage of a stunt sequence involving a four-wheeler rolling over, and publicly saluted the stuntmen involved in filming such high-risk sequences. With its release days away, Kattalan is shaping up as one of the more anticipated pan-Indian releases of mid-2025.
