Mumbai, Jan 15 (NationPress) Actress Keerthy Suresh, who recently starred in the film ‘Baby John’, disclosed that she was on the verge of making her debut in Hindi cinema quite some time back. Unfortunately, she had to withdraw from the project intended for her Hindi introduction.
Her recent Bollywood appearance in ‘Baby John’, directed by Atlee, has left her fans eagerly anticipating her subsequent roles, as they hope to see her excel in more Hindi films while maintaining her presence in South cinema.
During a recent media interaction, Keerthy Suresh reflected on her experiences across various film industries and shared thrilling updates about her forthcoming projects, which include additional Bollywood films and South Indian productions, much to the delight of her fans.
She revealed, “The film I was supposed to star in was ‘Maidaan’. I had to step away from it due to certain circumstances, but it was a mutual decision. I was approached for it five years ago, right after ‘Mahanati’, but I am really pleased that Baby John became my Bollywood debut.”
The role in ‘Maidaan’ ultimately went to Priya Mani, recognized for her outstanding work in the hit streaming series ‘The Family Man’.
Discussing the significant transformation in the Indian film landscape, Keerthy Suresh stated, “It’s an exhilarating process. You can now navigate through different industries. I am partaking in a Malayalam film, as well as Tamil and Telugu projects, and I have just completed my Hindi debut along with other Hindi films in the pipeline.”
On her diverse roles and upcoming genres, she added, “As an actor, it’s thrilling because the characters I am portraying are vastly different. I am involved in two films that are dark comedies, a Hindi film set in a serious context, and another in Malayalam that may feature action.”
She also expressed her desire to collaborate with various Hindi cinema artists, stating, “There are numerous directors I admire. Naturally, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Rajkumar Hirani are at the top of my list. In terms of actors, I am a huge admirer of Shahrukh Khan and am also keen to work with Shahid and Ranveer. While I have done an advertisement with him, I am excited about the prospect of working together on a film.”
