Los Angeles, Jan 6 (NationPress) Hollywood star Kristen Stewart has expressed her desire to take the helm of a reboot for the iconic 'Twilight' series, the 2008 vampire film that marked the beginning of her illustrious career.
In a recent interview with 'Entertainment Tonight', she mentioned that her dream scenario would involve a substantial budget along with a supportive fanbase for this envisioned project, according to reports from 'Variety'.
She stated, “I would love, look. I admire what Catherine Hardwicke accomplished, I appreciate Chris Weitz's contributions, and I value the visions of all the directors who worked on these films.”
Stewart continued, “They were unique, quirky, and so authentically themselves during a time when they were still discovering their identities before the franchise exploded. Absolutely, I’m on board for the remake. I’m fully committed!”
According to 'Variety', Stewart appeared alongside Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner in the 'Twilight' saga. The original film led to four sequels: 2009's 'New Moon', 2010's 'Eclipse', 2011's 'Breaking Dawn: Part 1', and 2012's 'Breaking Dawn: Part 2'.
The franchise collectively earned over $3 billion globally at the box office. While Stewart is enthusiastic about revisiting Forks, Pattinson's enthusiasm may differ.
He shared with GQ in 2022 that he often felt “infuriated” on set due to the studio's reluctance to embrace his artistic vision.
Robert explained, “I aimed to give it an artsy twist. There was this odd tension because the studio hesitated to delve into more emotional territory. I felt that was the only way to approach it. I spent so much time on set feeling frustrated. I can’t believe how I acted half the time.”
Recently, the actress made her directorial debut with 'The Chronology of Water'.
