Mumbai, Dec 21 (NationPress) Actor Kunal Kemmu, who has been receiving an enthusiastic response to his recently launched streaming series 'Single Papa', has expressed that one simply cannot fake laughter.

During a promotional interview with IANS, the actor discussed the intricacies of creating a film like 'Madgaon Express', which marked his debut as a director. He reflected, “I always say that for an actor, acting is for free. A significant part of an actor’s role is waiting, and that’s what you get compensated for. As a writer, I can only speak for myself; I wanted to narrate a story, so I wrote it. Did I know how to execute it? Absolutely not. Did I realize I would direct it? No. At most, I thought, ‘Maybe I’ll just cast one of the roles of the three friends.’ But it’s been an incredible journey. I penned it down in 2015 and, after seven years, someone finally read it and said they loved it.”

He continued, “The producers suggested, ‘We should bring this to life.’ I responded, ‘Alright,’ and they proposed, ‘You should direct it.’ I thought, ‘Fantastic, let’s do it.’ When things are meant to align, they do. I would be misleading you if I claimed to have a definitive answer for what it takes to produce a film because it involves a lot and sometimes very little. As I mentioned, if the universe is on your side, it’ll unfold seamlessly, or it may not happen at all. I’m incredibly glad it materialized for me at the right time and with the right people.”

“Experiencing that trailer launch moment was fascinating; there was a palpable silence, and I felt extremely anxious, thinking, ‘I have no idea what’s about to happen.’ However, when it played, the audience erupted with excitement. That’s the beautiful aspect of laughter. It mirrors being on stage; it’s entirely genuine. You can either laugh, or you cannot.
