Loire Cotler Highlights a Unique Trait of Sonu Sood as a Director

Mumbai, Dec 30 (NationPress) Grammy-nominated music composer and vocalist Loire Cotler, known for her work on the track Call to Life in the soon-to-be-released film Fateh, has showered accolades on actor Sonu Sood, particularly highlighting his adeptness in conveying his artistic vision.
Fateh is the directorial debut of Sonu Sood. Loire expressed that Sonu possesses a unique talent for articulating both the spoken and unspoken aspects of direction.
She shared with IANS, “Creative collaboration starts with both spoken and unspoken directions. It encompasses the explicit and implicit meanings of a scene. Sonu has an extraordinary ability to express these two layers in a manner that ignites my musical creativity.”
When inquired about the genesis of their collaboration, she revealed that Sonu had mentioned hearing Hans Zimmer talk about her in an interview. Subsequently, he reached out to her for a discussion regarding Fateh.
Loire expressed her excitement, stating, “I was thrilled to take on this opportunity. My passion lies in vocal rhythmic play. I found that the term Rhythm Vocalist aptly encapsulates my fusion of vocal techniques. This style incorporates elements such as jazz scat, Konnakol (a drumming language from South India), drum vocalizations, overtone singing, and wordless traditions from various cultures.”
She elaborated, “My vocal expressions are fueled by the rhythmic potency of the voice, resulting in an interdimensional language that aims to touch the hidden depths of one’s heart on an ordinary day.”
Loire has collaborated with the renowned music composer Hans Zimmer, known for creating scores for films like The Batman trilogy, Interstellar, Dunkirk, among others.
Reflecting on how the music composer has influenced her artistic journey, she mentioned, “I regard Hans as a crucial mentor in my development as a musician and composer, as well as a dear guide and friend throughout my personal journey. Knowing him and being part of his musical family is truly one of the greatest honors and blessings in my life. Honestly, my feelings surpass mere words.”
She continued, “No words can adequately express how special Hans is to me, how highly I regard him, and how deeply I treasure him in my heart.”
When asked how her work on Fateh deepened her understanding of Indian culture and music, she responded, “My creative role in this project was precisely attuned to the emotions and energies on specific cues.”
“I would say that working on Fateh enhanced my appreciation for how the universal language of music can elevate the cinematic experience,” she added.
Produced by Sonali Sood of Shakti Sagar Productions and Umesh KR Bansal of Zee Studios, and co-produced by Ajay Dhama, Fateh is scheduled to hit theaters on January 10, 2025.
