Mumbai, Feb 10 (NationPress) The creators of the upcoming fictional series “The Waking of a Nation” released its teaser on Monday. Renowned filmmaker Ram Madhvani, who has won a National Award and received an International Emmy nomination, discussed how the concept for this captivating series originated.
While elaborating on the show, creator-director Ram Madhvani stated: “I have always been profoundly fascinated by colonialism and, consequently, the challenges of racism and prejudice. The inquiries concerning cultural, linguistic, social, and artistic colonization have always been a source of concern for me.”
He further mentioned: “As I was reflecting on my next project, I recognized it needed to be grounded in our history, particularly during the British Raj and our struggle for freedom. That’s when the notion for The Waking of a Nation came into being. Thanks to Sony LIV, we now have a thrilling show that merges courtroom drama with the compelling narrative of three friends and the evolution of India.”
