Mumbai, Sep 23 (NationPress) Filmmaker-producer Mahesh Bhatt, preparing for the release of his upcoming production ‘Tu Meri Poori Kahani’, has shared insights on his method of creating films with modest budgets.
He elaborates on how this strategy significantly mitigates the financial risks associated with filmmaking by avoiding excessive production expenses. Bhatt spoke with IANS ahead of the release of ‘Tu Meri Poori Kahani’ in the Andheri West region of Mumbai.
When questioned about the tendency of stars to inflate film costs with large entourages, he stated, “I don't have to try. This has always been my filmmaking style. I firmly believe that the lower your expenses, the more innovative you can be. Higher costs lead to greater risks. When risks rise, the market becomes apprehensive. An anxious market pushes films towards big stars, who themselves become cautious about market uncertainties. They often think, 'This is good, but what if it fails?' Fear drives the market in filmmaking.”
He continued, “A fearful heart carries a distinctive essence. There’s an antiquated quality to it, reminiscent of prior successes. Conversely, projects born from passion, where there’s genuine enjoyment in expressing ideas, embody fearlessness.”
“Fearlessness is rooted in love. That courageous spirit is often found in emerging talents. When we create a film or song in a space we deeply cherish, we realize that audiences are no different from us. One may think they are award-winning individuals, but what resonates with them will resonate with others too. That’s a fundamental truth,” he added.
‘Tu Meri Poori Kahani’ is scheduled for release on September 26, 2025.
